MegaViral.Games: A New Way to Discover Hidden Indie Gems

Megaviral.games is a new discovery platform designed to help indie developers find an audience after their initial Reddit launch spikes fade. It uses a feed system similar to TikTok to recommend games based on user preferences rather than just recency.

The Problem With Reddit Launches

Every indie developer knows the struggle. You finish your game and post it on Reddit. You get a few hundred upvotes and some great comments. It feels amazing for about twenty four hours. Then the post slips off the front page and your traffic drops to zero.

This “launch and die” cycle is heartbreaking. Good games are constantly buried under new content before they find their true audience. A new platform called ‘Mega Viral Games’ has launched to fix this specific problem.

A TikTok Style Feed for Games

The concept behind the site is simple but effective. Instead of making you scroll through a long list of text links or thumbnails the site presents you with one game at a time. It feels very similar to the discovery feed on TikTok. You are immediately placed into the experience.

You play the game or view the project. If you enjoy it you hit the like button. If it is not for you then you simply move to the next one. The system learns from these interactions. It begins to show you other titles that were liked by people with similar taste. This ensures that quality games continue to be found long after their initial launch day hype has faded.

Built by Developers for Developers

The project was created by a Reddit user who was tired of seeing great projects disappear into the void. By focusing purely on discovery and recommendations the site offers a second life for indie titles. It is a safe harbor where the quality of the game matters more than the time of day it was posted.

If you are looking for something new to play or have a game of your own to share you can check it out at Megaviral.games.

About Mega Viral Games

I built a web app to help Reddit games get discovered after the upvotes fade. I’ve been developing and posting games on Reddit for a while, and honestly, promotion has been harder than actually making the games.

Reddit does a great job giving games an initial burst of visibility, but after a day or a week, engagement usually drops off fast. That’s the problem I’m trying to solve, which is why I built MegaViral.games.

How It Works

The idea is simple and focused purely on discovery. Instead of endless scrolling, the site just presents you a game. You play it. If you like it, you hit like, and it starts showing you other games that people who liked that game also enjoyed.

For Developers

Developers can submit a link to their game, whether it’s a Reddit post or an itch.io page. I’ve already added around 20 games I found on Reddit that I personally enjoyed.

I know itch.io has a randomizer, but it feels very random and not quite like this. This is meant to help good games keep getting discovered even after their Reddit momentum slows down.

Would love feedback from other devs, and feel free to submit your game if this sounds useful.

TL;DR: I built a simple game discovery site that shows you one game at a time and recommends other games based on what you like, so Reddit and itch.io games don’t disappear after the initial upvotes.
